God's Appointment Book 2

 

If you’re an omnipotent being who also allows free will, your day is filled with things you cause and things you allow. Perhaps this is what God's calendar looks like. Controlling everything by relinquishing control.

I start with a plan for the work and spatter primary colors on the canvas, layer by layer. But the paint must fall through a grid controlled by random numbers, which determines which parts of the canvas get spattered. Though the process is painstakingly overseen, the colors mix "by themselves" and the painting emerges with a will of its own.
